Built for the years they can't sit still
A Pikler triangle is the piece of furniture that solves the problem every parent of a newly-mobile child has: they are going to climb something. Better it's this than the bookcase.
Ours is solid beech, with birch plywood panels, sanded smooth and finished in a water-based lacquer with nothing in it you'd mind them putting their mouth on. It's made to order in a small workshop in Irpin, Ukraine, by the family who have been building these since 2019 — which is why it takes a few weeks rather than arriving next day from a warehouse.
It grows with them. At [X] months it's something to pull up on. At two they're going over the top. At four it's a den, a shop, a bridge — the frame stops being a climber and becomes whatever they're playing that week. Most families we talk to are still tripping over it years after they bought it, which is the point.
It folds. The single most common question we get is where it goes when you want your living room back. It folds to [7] inches wide and leans behind a door. Two locks hold it open while it's in use.
It looks like furniture. No primary colours, no plastic, no logos. It's going to live in the middle of your house for several years, so we made something you won't mind looking at.
Add the ramp and it becomes a slide on one side and a climbing board on the other. Add the arch and it rocks, nests, and doubles the ways they can use it. Everything clips to the same frame, so you can start small and add pieces as they get braver.
